Cat Cafes

In America, there are more then 1,000 dog parks where people can take their dogs and enjoy spending time with them.  For cat lovers, there are no places available to take your cat and to spend time with other cat owners. Places where cats can roam and interact with each other seems like an odd idea, but in Tokyo there is a place you can pay to relax and spend time with lovable kitties!

At these cat cafes, people pay to go in, pet, and enjoy playing with the cats.  You are required to take off your shoes and sanitize your hands so that the cats stay healthy.  There are a few of these cafes opened in Tokyo, and one of them stay open until 5:30 A.M.   The cafes sell beverages as well.

The thought entered my mind “why don’t we have these in America?”  These cafes would be a great idea to serve as a foster house to cats that have been in the shelter.  Cats in the café could be up for adoption and when they are adopted new cats from shelters could come to the café.

There is now a great body of research showing the healing properties of animals, and their presence with humans.  Also, many people suffer from allergies and cannot live with felines in the home.  Cat cafes would be the purrrrfect solution!

We have so many resources in America that could help change the world.  Cat cafes
would be a great business idea, and in turn be the first step in getting cats to their new families.

ZenCat Gallery loves this idea!   Anyone want to create a cat cafe in Columbus?  We could showcase our local ZenCat Gallery artists at the cafe!
