"I began making art in 2004 after the birth of my daughter, Haley. I was looking for something different for her nursery, something happy that incorporated my own lifelong love of animals, a love haley has inherited. When I couldn't find just what I wanted, I decided to make it myself. Friends who say my town paper collage art were so taken that they encouraged me to make more, and so my art career began.
I at first focused solely on cats in my art because at the time we lived with 6 rescued kitties that I had taken in through the years. Their antics were my first inspiration. If I see a stray I just have to help it, and I'm happy to say that I've raised a little girt who is the same way. Last summer we stumbled upon a starving dog walking along a country road near our house. Needless to say we have added a dog to our kitties!"
Judi Young lives in Galloway, Ohio with her husband Gary, daughter Haley, five cats at the current time (Callie, Molly, Hal, Gizzie and Nipsy!), and dog Katie, all of whom provide a constant source of inspiration to her. Judi likes to think her fun and whimsical art appeals to both the young and the young at heart.
